This season’s new women’s cashmere sweater has arrived: the Jake V-neck.

Cashmere has many benefits, and we’ll highlight three of them. We’ve also chosen to use recycled cashmere. In our quest to make this as sustainable as possible, this was an opportunity that came our way, and we jumped at it.

In our search for a great company to process and manufacture this, we found a wonderful family-run business that has been making knitwear for nearly 100 years.
Their years of experience mean they immediately understand our designs and can translate them into the sweaters and cardigans we offer. The passion we have for quality and craftsmanship—for beautiful clothing—is also embedded in the DNA of the company that produces our knitwear collection.

Benefits of Cashmere

Wearing cashmere sweaters and cardigans has many benefits. We’ve highlighted 5 of them to show you why you’ll be happy with a JANICE cashmere knit item.

1. Temperature- and Moisture-Regulating

Cashmere naturally has exceptional breathability and moisture-regulating properties. Especially if you tend to sweat easily, wearing a cashmere garment can be a lifesaver on warmer days.

2. Excellent insulation

Cashmere goats face extreme weather conditions—from long, bitterly cold winters to temperatures above 40°C in the summer. To protect itself against these conditions, the cashmere goat has developed a coat with exceptional insulating properties. The result? In winter, cashmere acts as a barrier against the cold, while in summer it blocks heat and keeps you cool.

3. Stunning Color Palette

Unlike many other types of wool, the ultra-fine cashmere fibers absorb color exceptionally well. Cashmere fibers take dye extremely well and are easy to dye. This means you can also create cashmere in very intense and vibrant colors. Of course, cashmere also comes in a rich variety of earth tones and pastels, but if you’re looking for a statement piece, a cashmere sweater or cardigan is the perfect choice.

Jake Cashmere

The Jake is made from recycled cashmere. After it was finished knitting, we had the sweater washed twice in a silicone bath. This makes this cashmere V-neck sweater extra soft. The neckline is beautifully finished with a lovely ribbed collar.

The most striking feature of the sweater is its beautifully set-in shoulder section. It looks as if it has shoulder pads, but the shoulder pieces are actually double-layered and knitted in reverse stockinette stitch in that area. This gives the sweater just a little extra edge and a rugged look.
