Leather Skirts

A leather skirt combines the best of both worlds: edgy and feminine. Plus, leather is timeless. A beautiful skirt made of genuine leather is therefore an investment piece that you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Leather skirts by Janice

JANICE currently has two leather skirts in its collection: the black short leather skirt Lou (a staple in our collection) and the Mack leather skirt in black and red.

How do you style a leather skirt?

You can wear the leather skirt both casually with a nice chunky knit sweater and chicly with a classic white blouse and a blazer. For a night out, opt for a fitted skirt with a pretty white blouse, a black oversized blazer draped over your shoulders, and cute boots. Pair the leather skirt with tights and black leather ankle boots in the winter, and with bare legs and sneakers in the summer. Always choose flat shoes to make your legs look extra long, or go for over-the-knee boots—they’ll make your legs look long too.

Where does our leather come from?

We source our leather from Italy and India. We choose tanneries that are as sustainable as possible. We believe it’s very important that staff are well cared for. Furthermore, we select leather that comes primarily from cattle, goats, and sheep. This is a byproduct of the food industry. An animal is therefore not bred or slaughtered for its leather.

We select only the highest quality leather. Nappa leather, which often comes from calves, lambs, or sheep, is butter-soft, supple, and smooth. This type of leather also has the advantage that, unlike other types of leather, it is relatively resistant to moisture and dirt. This means your item will stay beautiful for a long time and you’ll enjoy it for years to come. That, too, is a way to contribute to a more sustainable world.

How do you keep your leather skirt looking its best?

It’s important for a high-quality leather item to avoid too much (sun)light. So never let your skirt dry or air out in the sun. Not even indoors by the window. Did your skirt get wet? You can remove small rain spots by rubbing the spots together. You can protect it against water and dirt beforehand with a regular leather or suede spray.

If you want to thoroughly clean your leather skirt, it’s best to use baby shampoo. Or take your skirt to the dry cleaner. You can also keep the leather supple by occasionally applying conditioning products.
